Employee Giving

When the Employee Giving Campaign fund to purchase and install a flagpole outside of the new Assisted Living building had raised enough money, they decided to hold a dedication ceremony.  No one anticipated that the event would extend out to involve and honor so many of our resident veterans and include active duty military.  In addition to the ten veteran residents in attendance, other guests included nurses from Dover Air Force Base, the local American Legion, and others.  The resident honorees said they had no idea that people cared or appreciated their wartime service.  When the Air Force nurses learned that two residents had served as WWII nurses, they had many questions and a neat intergenerational exchange resulted.  The result was an invitation to a special luncheon in their honor at the Air Force Base during National Nurses Week.
