Words cannot express our thanks for the loving care and attention which you gave to our mother during the three years at Westminster Village in Assisted Living.
For the first two years, Mother was pleased to be able to maintain some of her independence. She enjoyed living in a safe, comfortable apartment, and she received the assistance she needed with meals and medicines. She especially enjoyed the opportunity to interact with other residents at mealtimes in your lovely dining room. (If one of us would lose track of time during a visit, Mother would say, “Let’s talk later; it’s time for me to go to dinner!”)
When Mother required further care after an illness, you provided the extra attention she needed by allowing her to enter Chapelwood. During her months there, you made her comfortable while assisting her with daily-living tasks, and your upbeat activities of music, song and riddles helped to raise her spirits. Your kind words (accompanied by a sense of humor) always brought a smile to her face. Mother seemed to realize that you truly cared about her.
We are grateful that Mother remained in Chapelwood while she was under hospice care for the last few weeks of her life. It meant so much to us that you allowed us to stay with her in her apartment during her final days, so that she always had family members nearby. We will never forget how you shared your TLC with us, by offering meals, extra blankets, snacks, and most importantly, words of encouragement, during a sad and difficult time.
Because of your kind treatment of our mother, she was able to keep her dignity until the end of her life. We owe our gratitude to the angels (workers) at Westminster Village Assisted Living.
